DSV-1 MOUNTS, NOW BETTER THAN EVER!
DSV-1 mounts provide outstanding value among small Alt-Az mounts. To make a great mount
even better, we have added these features:
NON-MARRING DOVETAIL CLAMP. Our Vixen-compatible dovetail clamp holds your scope
securely without marring the dovetail rail, helping maintain the looks and value of your
equipment.
LARGER AZIMUTH THRUST BEARING, for even more stability.
FULLY CNC MACHINED, for high accuracy and superior fit and finish. MORE
NEW AT DESERT SKY ASTRO:
QUICK BALANCING SYSTEM (QBS) FOR DSV-1 AND DSV-2 MOUNTS
QBS allows DSV-1 and DSV-2 users to switch between eyepieces and accessories of very
different weight without having to reposition the optical tube on the mount, while maintaining
the telescope balanced on the altitude axis at all pointing angles. QBS units are CNC
machined from 6061 Aluminum, with knurled knobs for tool-less adjustment and Stainless
Steel balancing weights & hardware.

DSV-2b ALTITUDE-AZIMUTH MOUNT
In 2010 we introduced the DSV-2, our first mount with slow motion controls and full balancing
capability. The DSV-2 has been a hit with stargazers looking for a premium small Alt-Az mount, many
of whom have written us telling how much they enjoy using their mount.

However, at Desert Sky Astro we believe in continuous improvement and never stop looking for ways
to make our products better. Now we have taken a great mount and made it even more capable and
user friendly: we proudly introduce the DSV-2b.

TRACKING/GOTO OPTION FOR THE DSV-3 ALTITUDE-AZIMUTH MOUNT
Since we started making Alt-Az mounts over 9 years ago, we dreamed of a mount that combined the
simplicity and intuitiveness of a manual Alt-Az mount with the convenience of a computerized tracking
mount. One that is easy to setup, one that you can manually push to the object you want to observe
without losing alignment, one that automatically tracks once you have selected your target, so you
don't have  to be constantly adjusting to keep the object in the field of view.

Now we have finally approached that dream, with the tracking/GOTO option for the DSV-3. Based on
the proven Sidereal Technologies (SiTech) Dual Servo Telescope Controller (DSTC-1), the tracking
option for the DSV-3 offers accurate digital tracking using encoders on both the mount axis and on
the DC servomotors that move the axes. Simply setup your DSV-3 as usual, point the scope to the
celestial pole and power up the DSTC-1, and the mount start tracking the stars. Push it by hand to the
object you want to observe, or use the included hand pad to slew and center your target, and the
mount tracks the object without further input from the user. No "training", no setting "tracking
vectors" or other tedious adjustments required.

But it doesn't stop there. You can add the convenience of digital object location and GOTO capability
by adding a Digital Setting Circles (DSC) computer to your tracking DSV-3. The DSTC-1 interfaces with
popular DSCs like Sky Commander, Argo Navis and Nexus, increasing the number of objects you can
enjoy in an observing session.

The tracking system includes the DSTC-1, servomotors with encoders, axis encoders, gearboxes and
gearing, cables and mounting bracket for the DSC of your choice (user supplied). Better yet, the cost
of a DSV-3 with the tracking system is less than some other Alt-Az mounts that don't include (or are
even capable of) this feature.
