This accessory will adapt your L-bracket based (William Optics, etc.) or clamshell mounted (TeleVue, Takahashi, SV Nighthawk classic, etc) to a Vixen GP Vixen Sphinx or Vixen-compatible German equatorial mount  (Meade LXD55/75, Celestron CG-5, Orion SVP, etc) and to some Alt-Az mounts in the market. It will also adapt many spotting telescopes equipped with a 1/4-20 tripod adapter to the above mentioned mounts. It includes a removable stud that goes into the untapped hole in the L-bracket to prevent the scope from swinging with respect to the mount.
